Carrowloughlin, Bunninadden, Ballymote, Co. Sligo
(Died 5th April 2019).
The family of the late Margaret Gormley wish to thank all those who supported and sympathised with us on our recent and very sad loss. We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all those who called to Margaret’s home, telephoned, sent cards and letters, attended the Funeral Mass, had Mass said, made donations and travelled long distances to be with us in our time of sorrow.
We would like to thank Margaret’s many neighbours, friends and council colleagues who delivered food to the house, cooked dinners for the family, made tea and coffee for all that visited Margaret’s home, provided lighting, gazebos, burco boilers, tables etc…, helped with traffic arrangements, directing traffic and provided assistance for those parking cars during the wake and at the funeral mass.
We thank Fr Michael Reilly who visited Margaret, offered her spiritual comfort and officiated at her Funeral mass and also Fr Peter Gallagher, Fr James McDonagh, Fr Gabriel Murphy, Fr Dan O’Mahoney and Fr Gerard Davey who concelebrated the mass. A special word of thanks to the organist Mary Frain, the choir and the muscians for their moving contributions.
We especially thank Professor Reynolds and all the medical and nursing staff at the Edward Halloran Bennett ward in St James Hospital, Dublin who looked after Margaret down through the years, also Dr William Roe and the staff at the Ballymote Family Practice and Shane Currid Pharmacist for their help and support during Margaret’s illness.
Thank you to Michael Coen Funeral Director for his professionalism and personal attention to the funeral arrangements, to Margaret’s grave diggers who prepared her final resting place so beautifully. To Councillor Declan Bree who delivered an eye watering tribute at Margaret’s graveside, the family sincerely thank you for your very kind words.
The family would also like to thank An Garda Siochana who escorted the remains to the Church and provided traffic assistance. Also, to the local school children, Margaret’s political friends and colleagues and the staff of Sligo County Council who provided a guard of honour at the church and accompanied her to her final resting place.
A word of thanks also to Theresa Cawley and the staff at Cawleys Hotel, Tubercurry for the lovely meal after the funeral. To those who helped in any way, your contribution didn’t go un-noticed and was greatly appreciated. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we ask everyone to accept our acknowledgement as an expression of our heartfelt gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions.
Margaret’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 11th May 2019 at 12 noon in the Sacred Heart Church, Bunninadden, Co. Sligo.
