May he rest in peace.

Dear Family, Friends and all People who have reached from far and near and still reaching out to us. Your kindness, goodwill and support in your own creative ways makes us speechless at this time and surrounds us with feeling of unity. Thank you warmly from the depth of our hearts, each and every one of you. May God bless us all with that unique connection to the beautiful nature that we are all born with and gives us strength to Love and to be Loved.
May the blessing of Peace prevail between the countries and in the World.

Olga, Gennadiy and Ilona.

We, the family of Mark, beloved son and brother, wish to express our deep gratitude and appreciation to relatives, friends, colleagues, co-students and neighbours for your kindness, compassion and thoughtfulness during this time. We have been consoled by family members and close friends who travelled within Ireland, from Ukraine and other parts of the world.

We appreciate in particular the students and staff of Trinity College for the wonderful candlelit vigil in the college, the memorial service at St. James’s Hospital and the tree planted in Mark’s memory.

We have also been comforted by numerous Mass and sympathy cards, poems, letters, messages, personalised gifts, flowers and the book of stories and pictures celebrating Mark’s life.

We would like to extend our thanks to Trinity Library staff, students and emergency services for their care and respect shown to Mark on the evening 23rd February, 2022.

We would like to offer our deep appreciation in particular to Sgt. Brendan Brogan who went above and beyond his duties and for his kindness, support and humanity to our family.

We are grateful to Michael Kilcoyne, funeral director, for his professional handling and sensitivity during and after the funeral.

We would like to thank the Funeral Mass Celebrant, Fr Conal Eustace also Isabela and John Hoban, Nora Shally and the beautiful choir who made the Mass service personal and spiritual.

We would like to thank Gerry Whyte and TCD School of Medicine who accommodated us and organised the bus. A very warm thank you to the students who attended the Funeral Mcaass.

We are grateful to Castlebar Mitchell’s Hurling Club and St. Patrick’s and St. Gerald’s schools for their Guard of Honour.

We would like to thank Dr Stephen Patten (GP), Dr Catherine Sullivan (GUH), Dr Brenda Griffin (St. James’s) and all medical care professionals for the kindness and attention given to Mark for the past number of years.

Mark, our ‘Ray of Sunshine’, is profoundly missed by his mother Olga, father Gennadiy, sister Ilona and her partner Hervé, and also grandparents, godparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.

Mark’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on Friday 25th March at 7pm in St. Aloysius  Church, Breaffy, Castlebar.
